AIA Media why Akhepran International Academy?

"Welcome to Akhepran International Academy"

Akhepran International Academy is a 21st Century Learning Institution that prepares scholars to become conscientious citizens and proactive global leaders. The name Akhepran is derived from an ancient African Kemetic word called “Khepri” which refers to a scarab beetle.  The scarab beetle was chosen for our school symbol because it is a very strong and resilient insect that survives natural disasters such as fire, volcanoes, flood and earthquakes.  Symbolically, Khepra beetle means “divine strength” and “self- transformation”.

At Akhepran International Academy, we are taught to become community, national and global leaders who will use our God-given divine gifts to remain strong and self- transforming through all difficulties, trials, temptations and negative experiences. With the help of our Creator God, along with daily prayers, silent reflection, parental support and hard work, our teachers will prepare us to succeed.

Akhepran school colors are:
Black – represents the physical heritage and strength of our ancestors.
Green – represents life, growth, energy, and self-respect.
Red – represents the blood, energy, and protection of God.
Yellow – represents the enlightenment and discipline of the sun.
White – represents the spiritual protection of our body, mind and soul.

At Akhepran International Academy our motto is “Teaching ancient wisdom and values to prepare 21st century global leaders”.  Our school offers each scholar the “Akhepran Advantage” which is captured in the following Acronym:
A - ACADEMY– Our formal and informal learning begins at 7:30am and ends 5pm.
D - DIVINITY  - The spiritual essence of God lies deep within each of us.
V - VALUES -  Our behavior, speech and thoughts are guided by the 42 principles of Ma’at.
A – AKHEPRAN - We celebrate the Spirituality, Symbols, Culture and Heritage of our elders.
N – NON TRADITIONAL - Teaching methods are used to develop our Spirit, Skills and Schema.
T–TECHNOLOGY – We use laptop computers to learn how to communicate effectively on a global scale.
A - ALL AGES - Grades K – 12 are taught how to be wise scholars.
G–GLOBAL LEADERSHIP   – We pledge to be global leaders with Godly wisdom.
E–ENVIRONMENT– We promise to protect our pristine environment which is our future wealth.

We the scholars at Akhepran International Academy are peaceful, humble, forgiving, generous, compassionate, and respectful. We are reflective open-minded inquirers, who are knowledgeable, thoughtful and intuitive. We are strong communicators and risk-takers, who are grounded, caring, and principled. We celebrate AIA, the Academy where Divinity, Values, and Akhepran knowledge are taught using Non-Traditional methods and Technology to prepare All Ages to become Global Leaders within and for our Environment.

School Song ("Here I Am Lord")

Here I am, Lord.
I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard my people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin,
My hand will save.
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?

Here I am, Lord.
Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of snow and rain,
I have borne my people’s pain.
I have wept for love of them.
They turn away.
I will break their hearts of stone,
Give them hearts for love alone.
I will speak my words to them.
Whom shall I send?

(Refrain )Here I am, Lord.
Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

School Prayer

O God, Divine Creator, Most High King of Kings, with reverence and humility, we present our AIA family to you.  We give you thanks and praise for this moment and your many blessings.

We acknowledge our imperfections and open ourselves to your divine guidance.

We call forth the manifestation of your spiritual richness, the presence of our holy ancestors, and abundant resources here at our school.  Let it be seen and felt through our principal, parents, teachers, administrators and students.  We are grateful for the on-going expansion of AIA, and we pray that the vision and teaching of this school will help us experience the wealth and abundance of your life and love which is our birth right.

Together, we will harness and attract the energies and spirits of all things positive and pure, and ask for your wisdom and guidance when faced with those things that are not.

When faced with adversities, give us the strength and patience so that we pray long, love harder and smile wider.  Help us to be disciplined, still, and silent, so that we may receive Divine Instruction.

Guide our hands, hearts, fee, minds and tongues, so that our thoughts, words and deeds remain in balance, truth, peace and order – Ma’at!

Make us unwavering as we take steps that lead us to our divine purpose and power.  Our individual and collective consciousness bring an undeniable harmonium and balance, as we strive to do all things in the spirit of Ma’at.

May our ancestors be pleased with all that we do.                       Give thanks.  Amun.  Amen.
